In short chocolatey is an entire new way to install and update all your software while ninite is just a slightly quicker way to install some select packages.

  • remotely install software on machines without logging of the user, i admit this is mostly great for enterprise but also handy when managing systems for the family when you can do Invoke-Command -ComputerName brotherpc -ScriptBlock -credential familytechsupport.
  • allow you to keep everything updated by running choco update all -y.
  • quick way to install familiar software without having to use a browser and navigate websites instead just doing choco install -y.
  • create an easy script that will installs all the software you want without having to go to a website and reclick checkboxes.
  • Only needs some command line familiarity.Īnd unlike ninite which is a do it once and that's it, chocolatey will allow you to do some additional stuff like:
  • Pick, Assemble and Install: Video Guide.
  • No intentionally harmful, misleading or joke advice.
  • No excessive posting (more than one submission in 24 hours).
  • No selling, trading or requests for valuation.
  • No self-promotion, advertising, begging, or surveys.
  • No submissions about memes, jokes, meta, or hypothetical / dream builds.
  • No titles that are all-caps, clickbait, PSAs, pro-tips or contain emoji.
